5-0 out of 5 stars Well Worth the Money
I've been setting wood doors for years, and I can't believe I just now got these great levels. Use the 78" for the hinge jamb and the 30" for the header. Perfect door swing every time. My only complaint is that the magnets aren't placed in the EXACT positions of the hinges. But the magnets are still strong enought to hold on while hammering in the jamb. I would highly recommend spending the money on these quality levels if your reputation depends on quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Feel the power of those magnets!
We all know how great Stabila levels are, and we own several. We bought the regular Jamber last year and when we saw this magnetic Jamber we ordered a set. If you are used to the old strip magnets on levels, hang on, these magnets are. . . WOW . . . unbelieveable. If your putting in steel door frames this set is a must. It will pay for itself on your first job. Hands free working, even when someone is pounding on the floor upstairs, these levels didn't shake off the door frame. Very, very powerful magnets. We also discovered that Stabila placed the magnets on the 78" in the location of the hinges. So even if you are setting a wood door frame with steel hinges, you can use this level hands free. We are very happy with the quality of this and all our Stabila stuff. I heard that Stabia is a 100 year old company . . . where have you been all my life? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Heavy but Stable and Safe! but get it at COSTCO for $99
I always wanted a Little Giant but never could afford one. a couple of weeks ago I found this MT-17 at COSTCO for $99 (I'm not sure all Costco's have them though) and has the same features as the Little Giant. I've been up 12 feet and felt very safe and stable. This is a great ladder but a little heavy around 50Lbs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Satisfied, but not amazed
I have had this ladder for about 10 days and am using it as I paint the exterior of my house. It is very stable in A-frame mode, though the rungs can be a little uncomfortable as you extend the height. (The inner and outer rings provide a wider support for your foot when at shorter lengths.)

As an extension ladder there was more flex than I was expecting. This ladder isn't as easy to adjust as the Little Giant infomercial would suggest. It comes with much nicer castings for use in scaffolding mode than the knock-off available at home depot. Not clear to me if there are any other differences. I also have been very happy with the stability of the outside wider scaffolding (when the ladder is broken apart into two samll A-frames). ... Read more

Quite possibly, this is the world's best 14.4-volt drill. When you first pick it up, you don't expect much: It's light and amazingly compact. But just wrap your hand around the cushioned, soft-grip, non-slip handle and squeeze the comfortable, rubberized trigger, and you're packing so much torque--390 inch-pounds—-that we defy you not to shout "Oh yeah!" First, we love the size. It's so smartly designed and built that you'll be able to work in the tight spots other drills can only dream about. We have no beef with the tough plastic housing, because it definitely contributes to the light weight. The battery design is a stroke of genius because it enables you to insert the battery with the overlap to the front OR the back, so you can tailor the shape of your drill to your workspace. Another nice feature is the ease with which the battery goes on and off—-we've struggled more than we care to admit with batteries on other drills. In the power department, you can't beat this tough guy. It maxes at an impressive 1,400 rpm, and none of the vibration ends up in your bones. Add to all of that the nifty Clip-Lock storage hanger, and you cannot help but love this drill. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best 14V Cordless
After getting the Milwaukee the other day I shopped all the other 14V cordless drills at a couple stores (something I actually should have done before just buying one over the internet sight unseen, but everything turned out great). I wasn't too worried about getting a bad product since Milwaukee is a very quality brand when it comes to power tools. I also wanted a 14V drill for its portability over the 18V (less weight).

I used to always consider DeWalt first since I have a fairly good selection of corded DeWalt products, but after reading some negative feedback on their 14V drill I opted to give the Milwaukee a shot.

One thing I noticed upon first inspection is the battery can be attached running in either direction, a feature that is not available on any other major brand drill that I could find. Also included in this kit is a belt clip that is just plain genious, the quick release mechinism should be copied by a few cel phone manufacturers it is so good. Every feature on the drill gives me the impression that Milwaukee listened to the feedback from a lot of consumers that knew what they were talking about: 20 position variable clutch on the keyless chuck with an additional low and high torque setting, 2 quick storage bit slots on the back, quick release belt clip, reversable battery.

After owning lots of the "Yellow" tools, I think I've been converted to Milwaukee. Plus red is much easier to keep clean than yellow! This drill kit is superb and comes with everything you need (minus bits) to get started: Drill, 2 batteries, charger, belt clip, philips bit. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Half great - half cheap plastic!!
I am finishing my basement and bought this plumb bob to set the walls, door jams and window boxes. I was immediately impressed with the quality of the plumb bob itself, the cord and the auto-retracting mechanism. The bob doesn't spin, settles quickly and the retraction gizmo is almost perfectly balanced - a HUGE time saver.

However, I found the "box" that you hang the plumb bob from to be very cheap. It's made of two pieces of plastic snapped together and broke the first time I dropped it. The hanging pin is a neat idea, but more often than not the unit popped of the wall and fell on my head. The black plunger that sets the pin is, again, plastic and you are supposed to hit it with your hand - you could never hit it with a hammer, even softly. Additionally, the hanging hook is thin gauge and I have bent it several times. More frustrating, its only maybe 2 inches long - it doesn't reach the width of a 2x4. The magnet is strong and the most useful and reliable hanging method.

I rate this 4 out of 5 because the quality of the cord they used and the retraction mechanism alone. The cord has never tangled and the recoil has performed perfectly. But, I almost always set a small nail and hang the plumb bob from there - I was tired of it falling off. Even though this is rigged - it's still a very useful and convenient tool.

One last note - they do a bad job of explaining the "zero depth" function. In the picture, you see the cord hanging 2 inches from the wall. Without moving it or anything, you can easily adjust the cord behind a set pin in the yellow box and the cord is now flush against the wall. I find myself doing this a lot when I need to be more careful about exact plumb.

All said and done - money well spent - but if (or when) I buy another one, I'll duct tape the plastic box together before I ever start using it!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Bob among bobs!
Cool Tool, I was just looking for a simple plumb bob and saw this retractable Tajima bob on Amazon.com. It was a little more expensive than a high quality bob by it's self, so I went for it. This bob is great. Very high quality, and has a "u-joint" type of connection that makes the bob settle down quickly. The retractable feature is fantastic. This is a very nice tool and a must for every finish carpenter and home builder.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tajima Plumb Bob
And I thought a plumb bob was a lump of metal tied to a piece of string....!! The Tajima plumb bob is quite simply a superb piece of Japanese product engineering. You can hook it, hang it, pin it on and its also magnetic - the high-vis cord self-retracts, it doesn't rotate. The gimbal-mounted bob is quickly self-damping and settles in seconds; the line can be three fixed distances from the back of the case - 60mm, 50mm or zero. If a heavier bob is fitted, the tracking arrangement of the cord is changed to compensate for weights up to 1Kg. It is beautifully constructed in mirror finish high quality ABS plastic, the bob is accurately turned and chromium plated. Its one of the best pieces of kit in my tool box. I bought mine in Hong Kong on 12.12.01 for HK$80, that's UKSterling 7.12 or US$10.40 by the way....

5-0 out of 5 stars plumbing
I use the plumb right to set metal door jambs and check the plumbnest of sheetrock walls. this is an amasing tool and the best spent 40.00.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple, visual, and accurate
I am a wholesale millwork salesman. When I go out on a door complaint (usually it's not operating properly) I always go into the building with my PZB-400 and a framing square. Before I even look at the door I explain that for a door to working properly, it must be; plumb, level and square. I then explain that the PZB housing holds the string 2" off of the door frame, and if the jamb is plumb, the string will be 2" off of jamb (just above the weighted plumb bob). I then attach the PZB housing to the upper portion of the door's side jamb and pull out the bob until it is near the door sill. Once the bob has stopped moving I then measure the distance from the jamb to the string and show the homeowner that it is or is not 2" off of the frame. At this point it usually is apparent that the door was not installed plumb, and it becomes an installation issue, not a product issue. I first saw the PZB in This Old House Magazine. Norm said he used it to set walls and door frames. I am buying 4 of the Tajima PZB-400 Plumb-Rite Bob Setters for my fellow salesman for Christmas. They are the most accurate and quick way of determining plumb that I have found. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Long standout makes this tape "stand out" from the crowd
Absolutely a must have for do-it-yourselfers. Getting critical measurements by yourself can be a chore if you need to reach a long way. I recently did some remodeling in my kitchen, and this fat baby was indespensible. The top hook feature was a great addition as well. I was able to reach out much further than with any other tape I have used before. As an added bonus, the rugged construction of the fat max holds up to the most severe jobsite abuse. I've had mine since they first hit the stores around October of last year, and it has held up just fine through every rainy day, early morning concrete pour, and sling-the-tape-against-a-concrete-wall temper tantrum. (Nobody's perfect) One small drawback: the 1-1/4" width creates quite a curvature from the top to the bottom of the tape, making short measurements a bit of a trick. You have to take care to hold the tape at an angle so as to put either the top or the bottom of the tape flat against the work surface. This is a minor consideration though, and doesn't detract from it's overall function or usefulness.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have for the serious user
The Fat Max 25' Tape not only reaches a good distance, it has a great feel and well balanced. I've been buying the same Stanley 25' Tape for the last 12 years, trying others and not liking them. This one beats them all. I've also had alot of positive feedback from co-workers borrowing it. I didn't think I would find one, but it's my new favorite tape measure.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for the professional

5-0 out of 5 stars As almost everyone said, the best...but
Not to belabor the point, but the tape is great! If you are looking for a tape with a great standout, (11 feet I think is a bit of an exageration, maybe up on Mt. Everest where the air doesn't weigh as much) easy to read tape, and good heft in your hand then this is it.

Here comes the but... if you are going to be measuring things where 1/16th of an inch makes a difference, the wide tape that's easy to read makes it tough to get it perfect.

So here is the recommendation, if you are only getting one, and you are only doing framing, sheetrock, rough measuring you've got your man. If you are going to be doing finish work, trim, etc spend a little less and get the Stanely 33-599 25' contractor grade tape. Easier to get the last nit measured.

5-0 out of 5 stars This tape takes top honors.
This tape is just the right feel in your hand and its wide blade makes it a winner. Once you buy one, you'll never go back to the flimsy little ten dollar tapes of the past. I am a carpenter and even at 25 bucks per tape which i payed when they were introduced I still think they are worth every single penny.
A+ tape measure, couldnt ask for more, dont know what some of the lesser reviews were about- i'm a builder and give it two thumbs sky high. I also noticed this tape took top honors in fine homebuilding magazine. ... Read more

I am blown away by this device. I first tried the free download from the Calculated Industries web site. ... It is a full blown version, without any restrictions, but stops working after 30 days. After about day 5 I knew I had to have it. By buying Construction Master Pro, instead of CM IV, you are getting a much better looking unit, with more features, a cover that mounts on the back while in use so as to not get in the way, and you are currently getting a free software version of Pro as well. All of that for only a couple more dollars than the IV version makes it a no brainer.
I am making cabinets, windows, and doors. In all of those, especially the windows, you need to do a lot of calculating in fractions. That makes the math work tedious at best. I was finding common denominators, then adding subtracting, dividing, multiplying, etc. Having to convert all along the way was a major amount of factoring. This calculator thinks in fractions as well as the standard arithmetic format. So you can insert, 8 1/8", and 3 13/64" for example, and it does all of the figuring for you. Convert your answer to board feet for material costs, is only a couple of buttons away. How many yards of concrete do I need to make the footers, no problem. I want to build an arch top doorway, and need to know the total amount of distance of the half circumference. No problem, just put in the rise at the center, and the run across the base, and it gives you every piece of information you could possibly need to know. This is just scratching the surface. This will be a tool that I will use for a long time to come. As I grow accustomed to its many capabilities, I will use it more and more, for a wide array of applications.
Could we call this calculus? It seems like it. When you watch the included CD that comes with the included calculator software version, you will see a video tutorial that explains a lot of the functions. Some are best understood by practitioners of that specific trade, but it makes me want to learn.
How much roofing material do I need? Just put in the pitch, and the floor space, and it calculates the amount of material. How many cubic yards of soil do I need to fill in the hill leading up to a wall? How many yards of concrete do I order for a patio. Determining hip and valley rafters. What is their length, and angle, and where do you put the bird mouth? Everything is calculated, and displayed in some applications as a sub chart with all of the finished answers in the software version. So it is nice to have both. Whether you are at your desk, or in the field, every option is covered.
I highly recommend the Construction Master Pro, I can't remember when I was more excited about a tool. I can't wait to use the calculator in ever expanding roles.
The price here at Amazon was 10 or 20 percent lower than the other sources, or at best the same price as others, and included free shipping. My advice, buy it, and buy it here. I warn you though that if you download the free trial version, you will be hooked after using it only a few times. Hope this helps.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must buy for anyone in the construction industry
This calculator comes with me wherever I go. As an architect, I am constantly using it to help me in field surveys and design decisions. How I lasted for so long on the English system without it is a mystery. Even in meetings my colleagues are happy that its there to save us time. Seriously, until we switch to the metric system, this will be an invaluable tool for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Time = Money
I am a construction foreman in the film industry. I have always taken pride in my math, but this thing makes double checking so quick that I now carry it on my belt. Stairs are easy, rise/run for squaring, you name it. I have also worked overseas and the metric conversion features saved me. This model is better than the IV because of the integrated cover and owners manual. It is so good that someone stole mine again and now I need to buy another. If you do takeoffs or run numbers for a crew all day like me, buy one of these.

5-0 out of 5 stars Indespensable
How did I ever make it along without this tool? This is absolutely one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. I installed a new front door with sidelights in my home (in place of a double door), and without the CMP 4060, it would have been a much tougher job. There are some very cool calculations that I plan to use in the near future, like the riser calcs for stairs, and the function that calculates how many bricks you need given width and height of the area.

In addition, the board feet calculation makes a visit to the lumberyard more convenient.

A must-have for builders.

5-0 out of 5 stars Get what you pay for?
This drill gets 5 stars for its value. How can people complain when it costs $89? Go buy a Craftsman or B&D for the same price or even more, I know this is much better. You get what you pay for. I bet these complainers also expect their Ford or Chevy to be just like a Mercedes for half the cost??? If you are a contractor like myself don't buy a $89 drill and then complain about it. This is excellent for my retired father and more than he will ever need.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good drill for home use. Needs more power.
Hitachi 14.4v drill kit is a good buy. The light is excellent, but not the reason I purchased the drill.

The drill itself has a nice feel in my hands... good balance. It's a good drill for home use, but could use extra power. Battery life is average. I've used the drill with the Kreg Pocket Hole Kit (which is outstanding), and the drill seems to run a little slower then it should when drilling the pocket holes.

If I were to need a drill for production, I would be inclined to look for a drill more high-end, like the Panasonic line for example. Having said this, I give it three stars. It's a good (average) tool.

I recommend Hitachi drop the light and upgrade the drill.

2-0 out of 5 stars Professional carpenter
I am a professional millwork installer and needed a second drill on the job. I saw this drill at a local store and thought I would buy it for the low price of $89.00 just to have it. What a mistake! After three months I decided to give it to a new carpenter as a "starter" drill. If you are a homeowner who uses a drill once a week maybe this is a good drill. All other professionals, I wouldnt even spend the money to have it in your gangbox as a reserve.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for production
We bought one of these in September and it is worn out in January. The brushes are not replaceable, the battery contacts are bent, and the chuck is loose and wobbly. Unfortunately, we bought 3 more in December. For production, it would be one star. For home use, maybe 3 or 4 stars. It depends on how hard you use it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value
Nice solid chuck, good clutch, enough power for deck screws, drywall screws, etc. If you're used to a 12V drill you'll notice and appreciate the extra power. Very comfortable grip and nice balance. Charging time could be quicker - it takes over an hour to charge a battery (it comes with two). Now, I wouldn't go dropping this drill off the roof or anything like that, but I give it 5 stars because at its modest cost it's worth every penny and then some. Even the flashlight, while it's cheaply made, unlike a lot of "freebies" it turns out to be pretty useful. ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

Impressively compact, lightweight, and comfortable to use, Panasonic's 15.6-volt drill/driver fits into tight spaces where other bulkier drills won't. The 3 amp NiMH batteries deliver impressive run time per charge, which is a big plus, especially if you need a tool for continuous use. What about power? This Panasonic packs up to 390 inch-pounds of torque--as much (if not more) than anyone needs in a cordless tool. The motor's electronic speed control allows full torque at any speed, so you can apply full torque while still maintaining control. The tool's dual speed ranges are 65 to 450 and 200 to 1,450 rpm. The 1/2-inch chuck takes bigger bits. The first thing you notice about this tool, however, is how compact it is (the chassis measures only 8-1/2 inches) and how comfortable it feels in your hand. The soft pad grip provides extra cushion and the tool's balance is superb, two important features if you wield a cordless day in and day out. The tool lacks an onboard bit holder, but that's about all it lacks. This drill is a smart buy for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and even woodworkers--in short, anyone who wants a small, compact drill that packs a lot of torque and is built to last. The package includes a 45-minute universal charger and a hard-plastic carrying case. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best I've ever owned
I'm a weekend warrior but use my Panasonic cordless drill nearly every week. I've had if for more than a year. It works very well. Battery life is excellent, I will ALWAYS try to buy NiMH batteries in the future. They are far superior to NiCd batteries. (Battery life is such that I rarely have to change batteries on a weekend project. There is no "memory effect" on the batteries so I don't worry about fully discharging a battery before recharging it.) The drill itself works great. The one hand keyless chuck is very easy to use. The clutch works well. Two speeds, fast for drilling, slower for driving screws are appropriate. Size/weight/power/controls are perfect for me. (I'm an average size guy.) If I had it to do over, I would have purchased the Drill/Driver combination with the circular saw. Saw is not available w/o batteries & charger like other brands. If it were, I'd buy it in a second! Are you listening Panasonic/Amazon?

5-0 out of 5 stars Size matters.
I have done over 30 years in the remodeling trades. I have always preferred compact drills to larger ones. I have used many of the different cordless drill models; mostly because the batteries wear out and it is always cheaper to get a new drill with two batteries than it is to get two replacement batteries. I have had this drill for nearly a year now and the batteries are still working. The drill itself is light, powerful, and it has a precise feel to it that pleases me. It compares favorably to many of the 18 volt drills I have used but it is lighter and smaller. I should mention that I have never owned or used a cordless drill that I didn't like, but that being said, this is my favorite to date.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best
The best cordless drill i have used .comfortable to use
,powerful as an 18 volt model.I have used cordless tools from every major manufacturer and panasonic is the best.If only panasonic made electric tools!Panasonic never promote tools in the uk and as such there are very few stockists.

5-0 out of 5 stars Balance, power, long legs, and a helluva price
I don't understand why Panasonic doesn't push these tools. They're the best you can buy. After seven years of overloading it, I finally burnt up the 12V I had at work and bought this...
The tool: This just feels right in your hand, it doesn't tug your wrist. The chuck is much better than my old one as it ratchets in both directions. The chuck on my old tool would loosen up when I was breaking and extracting a bunch of sheet metal screws. I never ate a clutch, unlike the DeWalts our construction division bought. We'll see how this one holds up with the extra power (I've only had it for a few months). When I get into sheet metal on our equipment, I appreciate a light tool, I'm getting old. This tool weighs more than a 12V, but I can do the repetitious work without fatigue. With the higher voltage tools I need 2 hands after a while. I have a 12V at home that I DID buy from Amazon (model EY6407NQKW) xlnt.
I'm a heavy equipment mechanic/power generation technician and fully expect my 15.6 to last to my retirement in 4 yrs.

Black & Decker’s VersaPak tools are great for the homeowner, and to keep them running, you’ll want some spare batteries. Some advantages to these include their freedom from "memory," which keeps you from getting a full recharge and the fact that you’ll get at least 300 full recharges on each battery. They’ll power all the 3.6-volt VersaPak tools, including the ScumBuster and screwdrivers. Of course, once you buy a VersaPak tool, you don’t have a choice of batteries, but we’ve found these to be reliable and well able to power the 3.6-volt VersaPak line. The charger has a light that lets you know you’ve inserted the batteries for a charge, and three hours later, they’re ready to go. Our only suggestion: We’d like to see Black & Decker revamp the charger to let us know when the batteries are fully charged. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Time Saver
I am in housekeeping at a camp and we have the VersaPac for our ScumBuster. It is so convenient and fast to change out because, we are very business and don't have time to spend on trying to change out batteries. With the twin charger we always have a battery ready to go. Thank you Black & Decker for making our day.

3-0 out of 5 stars Battery life
I have a most of the VersaPak tools sold to date and really do like their ease of use. We have the circular saw, 2 reciprocating saws, 5 flashlights, 2 drills, 1 stick screwdriver, 1 scumbuster that I can think of right now. THESE ARE ALL GREAT TOOLS!

They do have one BIG SHARED PROBLEM. Battery life (or lack of it).

I currently have 10 DEAD VersaPak silver batteries in my kitchen drawer and NONE are over 24 months old. The standard silver battery will hold a useful charge for about 30 days on the shelf. NONE of my silver batteries have lasted more than 14 months and a few of them died within 8 months. I do NOT put them through a charge/discharge cycle even once a day - so they are NOT lasting the '300 cycles' that B&D claims.

I just purchased 2 GOLD VersaPak batteries in May 2002 and they REALLY DO LAST LONGER while working. I hope they last longer than 12 months though. I certainly HOPE that B&D will FIX this battery problem. I like the tools, but I may need to switch to another vendor's products if this battery issue is not resolved soon.

2-0 out of 5 stars they just don't last
Batteries seem smart, but they don't last long when new (except in the flashlight) and they gradually just die off completely (and are not cheap to replace). Be forewarned.

If I ever receice this item, I might be able to rate it higher.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad batteries
I have the entire works of BD cordless power tools including the flashlight, scum buster, vacuum, cordless drill, recip saw etc., but no batteries. I had the ones that came with the tools plus some extras I purchased seperately. After a year of use, none will take a charge. What a waste, it is a great idea, but I guess the technology is not there year. ... ... Read more

Strait-Line's claim that this is "the most capable laser level ever built" is an invitation to skepticism, but folks, after spending a little time with this model, we think it's true. Yes, there are other laser levels on the market that project both a horizontal and vertical line, but we've never seen one that lets you access the exact point of intersection—-this one does, so every job gets off to a flawless start. And flawless it is, because the Intersect self-levels within 8 degrees on a vertical surface. All you have to do is attach it to the wall (more on that in a minute) as close to vertical as you can, and Strait-Line's amazing technology projects perfectly level and plumb lines with zero guesswork for a 30 foot total horizontally and 20 feet vertically. (We'll do the math for you: That's a 600 square foot work area.) Mind you, the auto-leveling feature works on a vertical surface only, but use on the floor doesn't require leveling anyway. Another feature to love is that it leaves no marks on the wall; there are no pins to push in. Instead, Strait-Line has incorporated 3M's revolutionary Command Adhesive. Just peel, stick and remove the whole shebang when you're done, without a trace. Accuracy is outstanding, to within +/- 1/8 inch at 15 feet. This is a great tool for just about anybody, from contractors and cabinet installers to art galleries, builders, home decorators and of course, the intrepid do-it-yourselfer.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... These are functional, but not very tough. They seem to be a little softer than some other brads I have used, which lets them deflect fairly easily at this long length. Therefore, keep your fingers out of range! They do hold well and are difficult to remove if you make a boo-boo.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Self Feeding Hole Saw Ever
I only have two of the Milwaukee Contractor's bits and I love them, I will buy this set soon. I use them for cutting the many holes required to run house electrical and plumbing. They are perfect for the hard to reach out of position holes that you can't push on a auger bit to cut through. They will eat their way though the center of a tree with a 3' extension.

Since they are self feeding they will not stop untill you let off the trigger and you need a reverse on the drillmotor to back them out of deep holes. Chips will back up and plug deep holes so use the reverse and clear out the chips on deep holes. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good scaffold up to 3 feet
This is a good medium-duty portable scaffold. It comes pre-assembled, with you only needing to set the platforms in place, and tighten the locking knobs. It appears well constructed, and the platforms themselves are extremely strong. However, the scaffold suffers a bit from a slight lack of lateral stability. There are no braces in the front (it is open), and no diagonal braces in the back. This means the welds provide the lateral stability, which is adequate at all heights except for the very top. This may not be an issue for lighter people than myself (I weigh 290). The scaffold is rated to 400 lbs, so even my weight should not be an issue. The castors are large, lock easily, and roll easily. Overall, this is a good scaffold, and I would buy it again. With a little ingenuity, you could probably fashion up some type of diagonal brace for the back, which would make it very stable when the platforms are on the top rungs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but there is one thing you should know
I bought this scaffold largely based on the reviews and it does fold well & have nice features. One point I would differ on with the other reviews, I would not call this scaffolding light weight! Check out the shipping weight on this before you buy.

The fact is the folding frame is light but the planks are more weight then I wanted to add to the many tools I already carry around. I decided to keep it because I'm sure I'll find occasions to use it but I also had to consider the 95lb shipping cost to return it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy Stand for rolling mitre boxes, & trim around
I set up my compound mitre saw on it, with trim material, and I can roll all around the job sites, without always running back to where the saw is set up !!!! Saves much time, especially on big commercial jobs or small residential jobs.

Wow what a nice device. I do not like ladders they kill my feet. This is such a wonderful tool installing molding lay it on top. hook a basket for your gun and have the helper push. bang its done. This will pay for itself first job in comfort, easy to push, folds flat! put it in van or truck it rules.

5-0 out of 5 stars Used for everything
Smalltime building contractor, I've owned one of these for years...ever since a painter/wallboard hanger turned me on to them. They are lightweight, easily stored, carried, reconfigured. I use it for many, many things: rolling scaffold for crown molding, painting, drywall hanging and taping (no stilts!), carrying tools or material into a job site, STORING tools and material on site (makes cleanup so easy and makes tools so accessible) with an added platform or stepping the platforms. This tool has gotten me many compliments from customers that I am smart and well-organized. HA! My interest is in saving my back, fewer trips, less climbing. The narrow size and swivel wheels allows easy passage through doorways and around corners. I want more of 'em ... Read more

Amazon.com Review

This is the modern version of a drill Milwaukee has been making for many years. The Hole Hawg has long been a standard in the industry, indispensable to plumbers and electricians alike, because of its very-high-torque, two-speed adjustment and its ability to fit into most tight spots when drilling through studs and top plates. Simply put, this is one of the strongest drills you can buy (people have even been known to use it as a drive motor for winding and rolling applications). The drill has both a side and a top handle. You can feel the quality of this tool when you hold it: its reinforced nylon resin casing, which is actually lighter and stronger than metal, offers terrific heat dissipation and chemical resistance. New users should be aware that, because the Hawg is typically used in heavy-duty industrial applications, its power comes with the possibility of significant kickback if a bit binds in certain situations. No question about it, though, Milwaukee's Hole Hawg is top of the line. --Tim Block ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The strongest drill you'll ever need
This drill puts others to shame. Drilling through the toughest material, this one has enough torque to get the job done, and still more to spare. The limit to what you can get done with this tool is determined not by the torque that the drill puts out, but by your own strength--when the bit binds on you, the drill will literally wrench itself out of your hands. The warning that the Amazon review gives is apt; new users should be careful with this behemoth because it has more power than you might think. Screw on the secondary, perpendicular handle to keep a hold on this monster as it bores through wood, concrete, asphalt, metal--the tool can handle it all. But can you handle the tool?

5-0 out of 5 stars Survived a flood
In addition to being an outstanding tool for electrical and plumbing, mine survied 3" of water. I let it dry out, cleaned up the outside and it runs like new still. The self-feed bits pull it through the heaviest 2" solid, dry, and well aged oak -- without burning the wood. And its not just for pros. Anyone who has to do electrical, plumbing, or has to drill through studs or heavy wood, will benefit from this tool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Made my remodelling job so much easier.
I had to do a pretty big remodolling project on my grandma's house (new plumbing, electrical, etc.) and this drill made to job much easier. Boring through doubled joists and top plate didn't phase this drill at all.

I do take the warning I've heard to heart though. I suspect that if one wasn't careful and let the drill bind up, it has plenty of strenght to break you wrist or mash any limbs that got caught between it and the structure.

I'd like to get more of the Milwaukee self feeding bits. I have the 2 9/16 bit and with this drill, it cuts through studs and flooing like butter.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a tank
Mix drywall mud / Cement / or even chuckle drill holes, it's a tank

5-0 out of 5 stars An awesome drill motor!
I have been building my own house for the past four months. I have sub contracted some of the trades but electrical I did myself. An electrician friend of mine helped me lay things out and got me started. He also gave me some great advice when he told me to buy a hole hawg. Equipped with a ship auger bit, you can drill out an entire wall in the time it would take you to drill one stud with a 3/8" drill and a spade bit. This drill is very heavy and obviously well made. It has all kinds of power even in the high range. When you shift it into low range you have to be careful you don't injure yourself if the drill bit binds and the drill kicks back. They don't call it the wrist breaker for no reason!

I judge tools based not on appearance but on productivity and usefulness. I work a full time job on top of building a house, and my time on the job site has to be efficiently spent because I don't have a lot of it. This tool made doing the electrical work possible because it allowed me to get a LOT of work done in a short period of time. I'd still be drilling holes for my home runs had I scrimped and used my 3/8" or even 1/2" hole shooter. The bottom line is Time = Money, and this drill is a time saving work horse. I highly recommend it to any one who has a lot of holes to drill. It is a high quality piece of machinery. ... Read more
